Frequently asked questions.

What are your rates?

If you choose to self pay, rates are as follows:

Initial consultation (15-20 minutes): Free

Diagnostic Assessment (90-120 minutes): $225

Individual Sessions (53-60 minutes): $150

I also offer sliding scale for clients who may be in a tight financial situation. If you are interested in hearing more, please reach out and we may be able to discuss a more affordable rate.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I am currently in-network with the following agencies:

  • Aetna

  • Cigna

  • Kaiser Permanente of the Mid Atlantic

  • Quest Behavioral Health

  • Carleton Behavioral Health

I am working to become an in-network provider with several other companies including Blue Cross in Virginia. I accept insurance through Headway - please use the link to get started: https://care.headway.co/providers/catherine-blasi **Clients who use insurance for services consent to your insurance company knowing your diagnosis and vague details of what is discussed in session.

I can’t take time off of work or school, can you help?

It can be difficult to get weekly time off for treatment. To make sure you don’t have to sacrifice PTO, I offer both evening and weekend appointments.

How long will I be in therapy?

The time varies from person to person and is heavily dependent on what you are hoping to work on. For some, issues may resolve in 6-7 sessions while others would benefit from one to two years. We can work together as long as therapy is beneficial to you, meaning you are making progress towards goals.

How often are sessions?

I see most clients on a weekly basis. However, biweekly sessions are also common, especially if this fits better within your budget. Research reflects that clients who attend sessions weekly and consistently have the best treatment results, meaning they experience symptom reduction sooner.

Is Telehealth/virtual as effective as face to face treatment?

Yes! Research studies have demonstrated that in person/face to face therapy is not superior to Telehealth. Many clients have benefitted from virtual sessions, especially those that live in rural or heavily populated areas.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice. You will be charged half of the session fee ($90) if you give notice less than 24 hours prior to your appointment or no show. I understand that unexpected events come up - please give me notice; fees are waived on a case-by-case basis.
